Godvin

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 7 years

Godvin, a handsome Beauceron mix, was found as a stray in Albertirsa, Hungary, on September 7, 2026. He was alone in the city and fortunately, the animal shelter was informed, allowing Godvin to be safely secured. Unfortunately, we do not know if he was abandoned or ran away from home. During a chip check, a chip was found but it was not registered, making it useless. No one reported this wonderful dog as missing. As always, it is incomprehensible to us, but Godvin, who received this name at the shelter, has a chance at a life with people who love, appreciate, respect, and show him how beautiful life can be. Hopefully, Godvin will soon pack his bags! Godvin is a fine fellow: loving, friendly, open, lively, and nice, just a great four-legged friend who brings a lot of joy and, like all dogs, is in the wrong place at the shelter. Godvin enjoys every caress and human affection and would like to have more of it. He needs a lot of love and closeness, as well as structure and leadership. Walking on a leash is already quite good, but it still needs to be improved. Godvin still needs to go to school, but it will definitely be a lot of fun to learn and practice with him, because he wants to please, learn, and just be with his people. He wants to be dog-appropriately occupied and go on an adventure with his people. Godvin will certainly be a great companion for his new two-legged friends, and it will be fun to spend time with him and teach him a few tricks. Maybe his people and he will also enjoy Agility, Mantrailing or other "dog things", the important thing is just to have a good time and have a lot of fun together and grow into an unbeatable team. Godvin gets along well with his fellow dogs, but currently (September 30, 2026) lives alone in a kennel. For our enchanting Godvin, we are looking for dog enthusiasts and experienced dog owners who will step into a common future with him. He needs people by his side, on whom he can rely and who can guide him lovingly and consistently, then he will get a loyal and reliable companion. He should be able to catch up, get to know and enjoy everything that has been denied him so far: love, care, varied and exciting walks, dog-appropriate activity, dog school, a soft bed of his own, lots of caresses and 100% family connection. Whoever gives this great boy his time and love will get a friend for life, because Godvin will love his new two-legged ones from the bottom of his heart. Who will enter into a lifelong dog-human partnership with Godvin? Godvin has calluses and an epulis (gingival hyperplasia), which will be removed soon. (As of September 30, 2026) Godvin can travel around the end of October/beginning of November 2026 if he has found a home or foster home.

DE·Show original

About Godvin

What life with Godvin looks like

Godvin is an adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Godvin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Godvin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Godvin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Godvin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Godvin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Godvin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Godvin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
