As my name suggests, I am a big, sturdy fellow in the best dog years. I came to the animal shelter as a found dog and am now on the lookout for a new home. I am familiar with family life, where I can live without small children, and if the couch is big enough, I don’t mind a comfortable spot to lie down. I like to go outside and do my own thing, after all, one has to sniff out who was around and leave one’s own message. Here, I am learning that it’s fun to cooperate with people. Leash walking and meeting situations are practiced with me so that walking on the leash is fun for both ends. I am probably a Leonberger-Herdenschutzhund mix and bring genetically based territorial behavior, meaning I am suspicious of strangers and guard my territory and family. I can certainly open up to new people, but please allow some time for getting to know me and plan several visits. Wie mein Name vermuten lässt, bin ich ein großer stattlicher Kerl im besten Hundealter. Ich kam als Fundhund ins Tierheim und bin von hier aus nun auf der Suche nach einem neuen Zuhause. Das Familienleben kenne ich, wobei ich auf kleine Kinder gerne verzichten kann und wenn die Couch groß genug ist, sage ich nicht nein zu einem so bequemen Liegeplatz. Draußen mache ich gerne noch mein eigenes Ding, schließlich muss man doch erschnüffeln, wer wo unterwegs war und seine eigene Nachricht hinterlassen. Hier lerne ich gerade, dass es Spaß macht mit dem Menschen zu kooperieren. Die Leinenführigkeit und Begegnungssituationen werden mit mir geübt, damit das Gassigehen an beiden Enden der Leine Spaß macht. Ich bin wahrscheinlich ein Leonberger-Herdenschutzhund Mix und bringe genetisch bedingt Territorialverhalten mit, d.h. ich bin misstrauisch gegenüber mir fremden Menschen und bewache mein Grundstück sowie meine Familie. Ich kann mich durchaus auf neue Menschen einlassen, aber bringe zum Kennenlernen bitte etwas Zeit mit und plane mehrere Besuche ein.
