Adopt Goose

Female · Young · 3 years

Goose is an active social girl who loves companionship and getting up to mischief. She sometimes likes a cuddle on her fosterers laps but mostly prefers causing chaos. She likes to climb as high as she can and chasing the broom around when we are trying to sweep her house. She loves her hammock and can be found curled up napping there most of the day. We are aiming to rehome Goose to a home with existing ferrets. She is used to living indoors and loves her home comforts. Goose has struggled slightly with her diet. She mainly eats cooked chicken and needs to take a supplement alongside to make sure she’s getting all the vitamins she needs. Recently she has started eating ferret biscuits as long as they’re crushed and soaked! We are hoping that once she is around other ferrets, she will settle and start eating a more varied diet. About Goose

What life with Goose looks like

Goose is a young adult animal waiting at Bristol Animal Rescue Centre in Bristol.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Goose far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Goose, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Goose?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bristol Animal Rescue Centre handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Goose on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Goose if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Bristol Animal Rescue Centre will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Goose already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Goose isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bristol Animal Rescue Centre early rather than rehoming privately; they know Goose and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
