Gordon – In foster – North East

English Bulldog · Male

Please welcome the newest boy into our GBSR family, Gordon. Gordon came to us from the pound after his owner surrendered him because he was moving abroad and his current partner was unable to keep him. Thankfully, our wonderful volunteers immediately jumped into action to get Gordon somewhere safe. A huge thank you to Sara, who collected him from the pound and transported him to his foster mum, Hayley, in the North East. Despite being understandably stressed during his journey, Gordon has settled beautifully into his foster home and is already beginning to feel safe. It is clear that Gordon isn’t used to being walked—he pulls constantly on the lead and will need some gentle guidance. However, we are confident that with Hayley’s love, patience and kindness, he will soon learn to enjoy his walks and understand that he will always return to a safe and loving home. Gordon has only just arrived in our care and is currently completing his foster assessment. His applications are not open, so please do not apply for him at this stage. We will share an update if and when he becomes available for adoption. Welcome to GBSR, gorgeous Gordon. Your new journey starts here—you are safe with us now. For now, please join us in welcoming this handsome boy to the Geordie Bullies family and wishing him the very best as he begins this new chapter. About Gordon – In foster – North East

What life with Gordon – In foster – North East looks like

Gordon – In foster – North East is a extra-large adult english bulldog dog waiting at Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gordon – In foster – North East, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gordon – In foster – North East?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gordon – In foster – North East on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gordon – In foster – North East if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gordon – In foster – North East already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gordon – In foster – North East isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gordon – In foster – North East and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
