Gotty

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

The little Gotty has just arrived in Germany. Since the end of August, the approximately 1-year-old Pekingese mix has been living in his foster home, where he is gradually getting to know his new life. With his just 6.5 kg, Gotty is a small dog, but he brings a lot of personality and a big heart. In his new daily routine, he is already doing many things right. Gotty is housebroken, can stay alone for a short time and finds peace in his box. He also masters some basic commands. It is especially nice to see how well he orients himself to his caregiver. He seeks the closeness and security of his human, is attentive and wants to please. In Romania, Gotty already had a home and lived there together with other dogs, with whom he got along well. However, it is still noticeable here in Germany that everything is new and unfamiliar to him. Especially dog encounters on a leash are still difficult for him at the moment and need to be trained further with him. It should not be forgotten that Gotty has only been here for a short time and is currently processing a completely new world with many unfamiliar impressions. With calmness, patience and positive training, he should learn to increasingly orient himself to his human in such situations. We wish Gotty people who give him the necessary time to arrive and are willing to continue the path with him. People who lovingly and consistently guide him, convey security and enjoy learning together with a young dog. Attending a positively working dog school would certainly be a good support. Gotty has learned a lot in his young life and brings many good prerequisites with him. Now he just needs people with whom he does not have to move again, but can really arrive and belong. Gotty is neutered, vaccinated, chipped, dewormed and flea-free. He has an EU pet passport and can move into his new home against a deposit after a positive preliminary check. Who will give the little Gotty his own home and accompany him on his further way? Many thanks Chantal S.! You gave Gotty his name! Status: 03.09.2026 Further information on the preliminary check and deposit

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank Chantal S.! Du hast Gotty seinen Namen geschenkt! About Gotty

What life with Gotty looks like

Gotty is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gotty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gotty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gotty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gotty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gotty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gotty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gotty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
