Goździk

Male · Adult · 7 years

Goździk is a calm, composed gentleman who loves human contact and eagerly builds relationships. He approaches people, seeks closeness, enjoys being petted and clearly shows how important humans are to him. When meeting new people, he can be a bit shy at first, but opens up very quickly - just a moment of calm and kindness is enough. Goździk has already had significant experiences as a "city dog". He was with us at an exhibition in the Palace of Culture and Science. Driving in a car was initially a bit stressful for him, but on the way back he traveled calmly and confidently. At the exhibition itself, he felt amazing - a loud, crowded place in the center of Warsaw didn't scare him at all. He approached people himself and eagerly made contact. He is already a regular at the Adopt a Warsaw Dog events. While walking, Goździk still likes to stay close to his caregiver, but is increasingly moving bravely ahead. He sniffs, explores the world on his own paws, and constantly looks back, as if making sure his person is still nearby. In relationships with other dogs, he behaves differently. He sometimes barks quite strongly at some, while ignoring others without reaction. Therefore, his future caregiver must be prepared for the possible need to work on his socialization. Goździk is stunningly beautiful: a beautiful, reddish coat and wonderful eyes accentuated by a black line à la Kim Kardashian make it hard to look away. But this is a dog who needs more than just admiration - a calm, patient caregiver ready to build a relationship with him step by step, without pressure. We are looking for someone who will allow him to open up at his own pace, without rushing. Someone who will make him feel he can trust and that someone truly wants the best for him. Someone who will simply give him a peaceful, safe life. Goździk is fading away in the animal shelter, don't let him wait any longer for a home! Sam podchodził do ludzi i chętnie nawiązywał kontakt. About Goździk

What life with Goździk looks like

Goździk is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs socialization work with other dogs, requires patient owner for gradual trust building

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Goździk, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Goździk?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Goździk on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Goździk if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Goździk already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Goździk isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Goździk and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
