Grady

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Grady is an approximately 1-year-old male dog, about 45 cm tall, who came to Germany as a puppy from Romania. Unfortunately, he had to leave his home and is now waiting in Salzwedel for a new home. Grady – currently named Bounty – is a very smart, trainable, and active dog who wants to be supported and challenged. He needs people who enjoy working with him and who can give him clear structures and rules. Since his exact origins are unknown, hunting or herding dog genes cannot be ruled out for Grady. Both types bring special qualities: While hunting dogs are usually very hardworking and closely oriented to humans, herding dogs are considered independent and vigilant. Therefore, his future home should be prepared to accommodate these possible traits and to guide him accordingly. In the past, Grady had a leash pulling issue, but this behavior has improved significantly through consistent training. It is important that his new people continue to work on this so that he can continue to develop stably. Grady is generally compatible with other dogs, depending on the situation. He is open, friendly, and very playful towards people. He brings a lot of charm and likes to work closely with his trusted people. Grady already knows basic commands and is accustomed to life in a household. For him, we are looking for active, consistent, and ideally dog-experienced people who not only challenge him but also give him the necessary security and guidance. For those who are willing to work with Grady, you will get an intelligent, loyal, and happy companion who will become a great dog with the right guidance. Grady is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated. Who will give this wonderful guy the chance to finally fit in? Heartfelt thanks to dear Mrs. B. for giving Grady his wonderful name. Thanks to your namingsponsorship, the sweet little guy has a chance at great happiness. Stand: 02.05.

About Grady

What life with Grady looks like

Grady is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Grady, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Grady?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Grady on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Grady if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Grady already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Grady isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Grady and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
