Grafit

Male · Adult · 5 years

Grafit is a very energetic, active and positively oriented puppy. He is extremely happy to see us and eagerly runs for a walk! The animal shelter does not help him to calm down and control his emotions. A walk with Grafite is an energetic march. Definitely, the future family must like long, interesting walks and have time for trips outside the city, so that Grafit can run wild and, more importantly, calm down on the walk. We are sure that regular and long walks at home will be key to Grafite's happiness after adoption. With people, Grafit is a cheerful, friendly puppy who knows several basic commands. He is exceptionally intelligent. He quickly grasps new things, can focus beautifully on new tasks and cooperation with a person. He likes toys, especially tug toys, and can play with them nicely on his own. And on a walk, he perfectly knows the command "find" and manages to find his favorite toys :) In the kennel, he is a joker and a cuddler, who seeks contact and affection. He is a joyful, willing to cooperate with a person dog, well trained in recall. Grafit is very attentive, when he sees that the leader is resting, he lies down next to him and also waits. His attitude towards his species is different, some dogs he can pass by calmly, especially other spaniels, and others he barks at. He has already started to go on walks in the company of a stable spaniel and communication with his species is getting better for him. He is learning to control his emotions and respect the space of another dog. This will probably be an area for work after adoption, but certainly the shelter stress has a big impact on Grafite's current reactions towards dogs. Grafit mainly needs long walks in the company of nice and stable dogs. For Grafite, we are looking for a patient, active home, with time for long walks and other activities, through which Grafit will be able to spend his energy. We do not recommend Grafite to people leading a low activity lifestyle. Grafit will not feel at home in a house where there are small children. We do not know what Grafite's attitude is towards other pets, including cats. If Grafit were to end up in a home where there is already another pet, an introduction to the resident will be required.

Spacer z Grafitem to energiczny marsz. To wybitnie inteligentny pies. About Grafit

What life with Grafit looks like

Grafit is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Requires very active lifestyle with long daily walks and mental stimulation. Needs socialization work with other dogs.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Grafit, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Grafit?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Grafit on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Grafit if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Grafit already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Grafit isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Grafit and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
