Grand (Гранд)

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Grand is a mixed-breed Irish Setter, a handsome dog with luxurious red fur. 🐾❤️ Grand was found on the side of a busy highway - exhausted and hungry, he was just waiting... waiting for someone. Now Grand is in Latvia, under our care, at Daylapu.lv. He saw that things could be different. That the world doesn't always betray. But he still doesn't have a home. Only a temporary shelter. And we are starting to look for a family for him. The real one. Of course, he still has a lot to learn - Grand doesn't know how to walk on a leash yet and he needs to work on that. He has hunting instincts. But already now we can say that this is just a fantastic dog! He loves to swim. Grand is very affectionate and friendly with children, he has no food aggression. About Grand (Гранд)

What life with Grand (Гранд) looks like

Grand (Гранд) is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Daylapu in Latvia.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇱🇻Adopting from Latvia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Grand (Гранд), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Grand (Гранд)?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Daylapu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Grand (Гранд) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Grand (Гранд) if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Daylapu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Grand (Гранд) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Grand (Гранд) isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Daylapu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Grand (Гранд) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (RU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
