Gremlin

Mixed Breed · Male · Baby · 14 months

Gremlin and his brother Gizmo have been here since Christmas 2025. They need a home together. Ideally, they need to be kept indoors with a lot of environmental enrichment. Both these boys have been castrated and microchipped. Please understand that although these guinea pigs are friendly, they are not used to being handled by children. They are not suitable as children’s pets and may bite or scratch. If you would like to adopt Gremlin and his brother, please email for the questionnaire and to arrange a home check. Priority is given for people within an hour’s travel time from the rescue centre in Weardale, County Durham, DL13 1LE. We have no fixed adoption fee but do ask for a generous donation to help us care for the animals here. Please Note: We are not open to the public.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gremlin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gremlin?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Farplace Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gremlin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gremlin if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a animal can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Farplace Animal Rescue what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Gremlin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a animal comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Farplace Animal Rescue directly what is included and what Gremlin still needs.
What happens if Gremlin isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Farplace Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gremlin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
