Greta

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Greta - a sweet and lovable dog waiting for love! Somewhere among the shelter kennels, she waits - a 4-year-old female dog who doesn't know if she has one. Because she ran through the streets, between properties, and couldn't be secured. Maybe someone let her down, maybe she never experienced real care. But one thing is certain - she's waiting in the shelter for a better tomorrow. At first, she was distrustful, even withdrawn. She looked at people with distance. But slowly, with the right approach, patience, and love, Greta began to open her heart to people. And now, although still cautious, she starts to trust and believe that she can be loved. Whenever she leaves the kennel, she jumps like a puppy, runs, and infects everyone around with positive energy - there's no end to the enthusiasm. She handles well on a leash, although it's not perfect. But it's clear that she's learning quickly. By nature, she's cheerful, sociable, and non-aggressive towards humans. Her cheerful disposition and sharp mind make everyone happy. Greta doesn't accept other dogs, she must be a single dog in her new home. Greta is a dog who now most wants her human and a real home. One where she will never be alone again. Maybe this is where you will create this dream DUO? Greta came to us from Myczkowce, Gmina Olszanica. We recommend her for adoption.

About Greta

What life with Greta looks like

Greta is a medium-sized puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Greta, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Greta?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Greta on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Greta if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Greta already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Greta isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Greta and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
