Griechischer Brackenmix „Poldi“

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Griechischer Brackenmix „Poldi“ male dog, neutered, 5 years old, located in 82319 Starnberg. Poldi came to her current guardian in late 2021 via animal protection. During her illness and after the loss of her partner, Poldi's capacity to handle her hunting instincts became insufficient. With heavy heart, a loving but experienced hunting home is sought for the male dog. What does not work well: Poldi is not reliably recallable from off-leash and follows hare tracks with great enthusiasm. On a leash, he puts in a lot of effort and goes full throttle. Additionally, he occasionally shows rude behavior towards intact male dogs of his weight class. At home, Poldi is mostly quiet and shows almost no territorial behavior. He has developed from a fearful puppy into a cheerful companion. He likes to play with female dogs and neutered male dogs and shows endurance and trail safety on long hikes. Previous insecurities towards men and children have significantly improved. Poldi enjoys car rides, can be taken to hotels and restaurants without problems. Poldi's hunting tendencies are limited to hares and similar. She shows little interest in horses, cows, cats, and cyclists, maintaining a respectful distance. Poldi has never been aggressive towards people. She takes every treat with great caution, does not defend her food, and allows easy examination by the vet. Desired home: Poldi will only be given to experienced hands. Ideally, she would be placed with people who enjoy ambitious nose work, can keep up with her running enthusiasm, and preferably have a well-fenced property. Other dogs or cats should not be a problem. This animal was surrendered to the shelter. This is a young, adolescent dog.

Frequently asked

Adopting Griechischer Brackenmix „Poldi“, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Griechischer Brackenmix „Poldi“?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jagdhunde in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Griechischer Brackenmix „Poldi“ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Griechischer Brackenmix „Poldi“ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jagdhunde in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Griechischer Brackenmix „Poldi“ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Griechischer Brackenmix „Poldi“ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jagdhunde in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Griechischer Brackenmix „Poldi“ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
