Adopt Griesbert

Mixed Breed · Male

Hello, I am Griesbert – the type who used to storm hearts (and ladies) in the past. I am still young, but I have already seen a lot. I grew up with a mixed bunch: cats named "Urbi" or simply numbered like in a crazy science-fiction film. I was more the stylish type – with a pronounced sense for romance. This year, I have really stepped up when it comes to the topic of offspring. Let's say it this way: my family tree is now a fully grown forest. But the wild days are over! I am now neutered – which, by the way, does not in the slightest affect my cuddly nature. On the contrary: now I have even more time to focus on the essentials. Cuddle. Purr. Love people. And run around in a silly way. Ah, my running style! Two years ago, a car hit me, and my thigh has been a bit... special ever since. But don't worry – I don't have any pain. I move around like a slightly tipsy flamingo on roller skates. And if I run? Then it's straight-up comedy. I make everyone laugh – without even trying. Other cats? I don't need them immediately. But if someone ever lets me "warm up," I find them pretty okay. I am just a cat who takes his time – for friendships and life. So, are you looking for a tomcat with character, humor, and that certain Griesbert charm? Then I am your type.

About Griesbert

What life with Griesbert looks like

Griesbert is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Marktoberdorf in Marktoberdorf.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Griesbert, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Griesbert?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marktoberdorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Griesbert on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Griesbert if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marktoberdorf will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Griesbert already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Griesbert isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marktoberdorf early rather than rehoming privately; they know Griesbert and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
