Grisouille &#8211

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 15 years

Hello, I am a 15-year-old Shih-Tzu. Who wants to spend happy days with me? I am quiet, calm, and gentle. My fur is silky, but I don't ask for too many pats. I will be distant at first. I am a bit difficult about food, but I eventually eat my dry kibble when I'm hungry, especially if they are mixed with sardine oil. If I have to take medication, it will be crushed and mixed with my food, otherwise, I carefully sort it out! I communicate by scratching. I will scratch and bark a little to ask to eat. I will scratch in front of the door if I need to go outside. A garden would be appreciated. I still like walking at my own pace around the block. I don't pull on the leash. After a few days, you can let me off the leash while staying close to me, because sometimes, especially at first, I turn back. I am very sociable with other animals of the same species. I only have one tooth and I have cataracts, in short, I am a grandpa who just wants to end his life in a calm and peaceful home that will take care of me until the end with the appropriate care for my health condition. Barking, your future Grisouille. If you are interested in my profile, you can contact LPA-NF de Lille by sending an email to the address or calling at which we will transmit the contact details of my foster family.

About Grisouille &#8211

What life with Grisouille &#8211 looks like

Grisouille &#8211 is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at LPA Nord de la France in Lille.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Grisouille &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Grisouille &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. LPA Nord de la France handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Grisouille &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Grisouille &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — LPA Nord de la France will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Grisouille &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Grisouille &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with LPA Nord de la France early rather than rehoming privately; they know Grisouille &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
