Guinness

Male · Adult · 4 years

**Full of spirit and friendliness - meet Guinness!** He has a dark and deep coat, like a certain cult beverage, and his fluffy tail resembles the soft foam on top of a mug. But you won't get a bloated belly in his company. He's a real wild spirit on four paws! Guinness is full of energy not only because of his athletic figure but also because of his big intelligence! He just catches on quickly. He learns commands fast, but doesn't want to repeat them, because he's looking for new challenges. Guinness - for friends of Ginek or Gumiś, he's the perfect dog for active people who love trips and walks in dog-human company, because our wolf likes other four-legged animals. Although Ginek looks like an athlete and a tough guy, he is actually a very sensitive dog. It is hard for him to separate from his humans, but we already know that he can stay at home without unnecessary destruction. Stress caused by changes in life and staying in the animal shelter makes Ginek very thin and always hungry, so in his future home he will need first to calm his body to show his true, kind character. This curious guest loves to stick his nose into the grass far from the city. He also copes well in the city, as long as it's another trip in search of experiences. However, **in his future home he will need space exclusively to acclimatize, rest quietly, eat, calm down and... give caregivers some breathing room. Such opportunities are easiest to provide in a house with a garden outside the city or on its outskirts.** Ginek needs caregivers who understand canine needs and have experience in handling a demanding dog. **His ideal caregiver is a patient but also consistent person, who in a controlled way will show Guinness the limits, build a relationship based on cooperation and teach the art of compromise.** We dream that he will experience peace and a good life. x**Pełen żywiołu i przyjaźni - poznaj Guinnessa!** Ma umaszczenie tak ciemne i głębokie, jak pewien kultowy napój, a jego puchaty ogon przypomina puszystą pianę na szczycie kufelka. On po prostu wszystko łapie w mig. About Guinness

What life with Guinness looks like

Guinness is a large adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Stress-related weight loss, needs quiet environment to decompress, requires patient rehabilitation

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Guinness, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Guinness?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Guinness on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Guinness if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Guinness already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Guinness isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Guinness and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
