Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

This gorgeous boy is now looking for a 5 star forever home with a very special family.Jonathan came to us in a bad way after being traumatised but he’s now calmed down and is very very slowly learning to trust again but it is slow progress. We are looking for a forever family for Jonathan who have a quiet home where he can slowly learn to trust people again. He will need a lot of patience and understanding.Jonathan is est 8 years old plus and has some scarring on his eye from what’s believed to be an old injury. He does not require treatment as there’s nothing that can be done. It’s only scarring and he lives a perfectly normal life with it.He does require a special diet of Royal Canin Gastro food as he can get an upset tummy. Unfortunately this is another reason why cats like Jonathan get overlooked. He’s been neutered and microchipped and will begin vaccinations next week. He will need to be brought back for 2nd vaccinations at Chantry Vets in another 3-4 weeks. The rescue will cover this expense. You will be required to sign to say you have seen Jonathan’s vet notes and we do now encourage you to share those with your own vet if you want them to verify anything. He’s such a sweet boy with so much potential if someone would just give him a chance.

About This

What life with This looks like

This is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at The Cat House Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting This, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about This?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Cat House Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw This on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt This if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Cat House Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is This already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if This isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Cat House Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know This and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
