Health status: takes thyroid medication.Gustaw is a small, white dog of Maltese type; he has long fur that needs trimming. Although he may initially be wary of new people, he quickly becomes trusting after a few walks once he feels safe. He barks at strangers and sometimes even chases them away by running toward them. He has also shown aggression toward humans. Gustaw needs several meetings before adoption to build a bond and gain trust in his new caregiver. In everyday life, he values space and freedom. He doesn’t like being forced into anything. During walks, Gustaw loves to sniff around and explore his surroundings. He’s a very emotional dog—delicate, sensitive, and full of character. In situations of high stress, he may resort to unpleasant behaviors such as biting. Gustaw has trouble with street traffic—he gets very excited and barks at passing cars. At the shelter, he displays aggressive behavior toward other dogs, so this should be given special attention when considering adoption. Unfortunately, cats are also not welcome in Gustaw’s presence. The ideal home for Gustaw would be:– far from urban hustle and bustle– with caregivers who aren’t pushy– without children– with caregivers who have time and patience to show Gustaw that the world isn’t scary– without cats– open to working with a behaviorist

Gustaw to mały, biały piesek w typie maltańczyka, posiada włos, trzeba go strzyc. Choć początkowo może być nieufny wobec nowych osób, to nabiera zaufania po kilku spacerach, gdy tylko poczuje się bezpiecznie. Na obcych reaguje szczekaniem, czasem nawet odstrasza podbiegając w ich kierunku. Przejawiał też agresję wobec ludzi. Gustaw potrzebuje kilku spotkań przed adopcją, aby zbudować więź i zaufać nowemu opiekunowi. Na co dzień ceni przestrzeń i swobodę. Nie lubi gdy się mu coś narzuca. Podczas spacerów Gustaw uwielbia węszyć i eksplorować otoczenie. Jest bardzo emocjonalnym psem, delikatnym i wrażliwym i z charakterem. W sytuacjach dużego stresu może uciekać się do nieprzyjemnych rozwiązań jak gryzienie. Gustaw ma problem z ruchem ulicznym – bardzo się nakręca i szczeka na przejeżdżające samochody. W schronisku przejawia agresywne zachowania wobec innych psów, dlatego warto zwrócić na to szczególną uwagę przy adopcji. Niestety, koty również nie są mile widziane w towarzystwie Gustawa. Idealny dom dla Gustawa: – z dala od miejskiego zgiełku – nienarzucającymi się opiekunami – bez dzieci – opiekunami, którzy mają czas i cierpliwość, aby pokazać Gustawowi, że świat nie jest taki straszny – bez kotów – nastawionego na pracę z behawiorystą
