Hades

Husky · Male · Adult · 7 years

Hades is back after nearly a year in foster care. He’s very gentle with humans. He gets along well with children and with well-behaved, calm dogs. However, when it comes to all other animals, it’s an absolute no-go. Forget about cats, rabbits, poultry, and the like... The downside: Hades is a real escape artist! A fenced-in environment is essential. Hades needs plenty of physical exercise and constant human companionship. When left alone or separated from his people at night, he may destroy doors, walls, and other household items. His adopters found that he was calmer when sleeping in the bedroom, but even that wasn’t always enough—after just a few hours, he could start scratching at doors or walls again. Hades is therefore looking for a very available family, one that’s present every day, thoroughly familiar with the breed’s needs, and able to provide him with long walks, numerous physical and mental activities, and a lifestyle that’s perfectly suited to him. A completely secure home will be indispensable to minimize the risk of him running away. Despite all these challenges, Hades remains an endearing dog—close to humans and full of affection. We’re convinced that the right family is out there, but they’ll need to be fully aware of his needs and limitations before committing.

About Hades

What life with Hades looks like

Hades is a adult husky dog waiting at SRPA Liege in Srpa Liege.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hades, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hades?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SRPA Liege handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hades on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hades if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SRPA Liege will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hades already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hades isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SRPA Liege early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hades and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
