Hades

Mixed Breed · Male

Hades, born June 18, 2018, is a large, strong, fast and very agile dog. He is likely a mix of an American Staffordshire Terrier with a long-legged breed, making him a high energy dog. On July 10, 2026, he was returned to the shelter. In his previous home, he lived only since May. He also had caregivers before that. Unfortunately, my life has been turned upside down once again. From the previous house I was given away after an incident involving a 10-year-old child, during which there was a bite. Fortunately, the injuries were not serious. I do not know all the circumstances of this situation, so I am looking for a home that is aware of dog needs, experienced and ready to read my signals well. For safety reasons, I am looking for a home without children.I am a dog who loves to work with people. I like to follow commands, learn new things and have specific tasks. When someone pays attention to me and shows what they expect from me, I really try to give it all.I have a lot of energy. I'm fast, strong and very agile, but at the same time I seem like a dog who has been missing an adequate dose of exercise and activity for a long time. Dogs like me need not only walks, but also work with people, opportunities to use their potential and stable life.I do not know what it is like to have one home forever. My life has changed very quickly lately. For a person moving can be difficult. For a dog who does not understand why he loses his people again, it's even harder. Every change means a new place, new rules and the need to build a sense of security from scratch. I would like my next suitcase to be just a memory. My last caregivers said that I get along with other dogs, lived in an apartment and kept the house clean. According to them, it also happens that I bark when I'm left alone.I am looking for an experienced, calm and consistent home. One who understands that a dog is not only a friend for good times, but also responsibility for many years. If someone gives me time, clear rules and a sense of security, I believe that I will repay with loyalty and commitment.

Prawdopodobnie jestem mieszanką amstaffa z psem o długich nogach, dlatego ruch to mój żywioł.10 lipca 2026 roku ponownie trafiłem do schroniska. Szukam domu doświadczonego, spokojnego i konsekwentnego.

About Hades

What life with Hades looks like

Hades is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hades, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hades?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hades on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hades if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hades already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hades isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hades and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
