Haiduc der Große

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Haiduc - a heart on four paws seeks his second chance 🤎 When Haiduc was found, he was barely recognizable. A large, proud heart in the body of a dog who had been invisible for far too long. An ingrown band constricted his neck – probably since his youth. His fur was matted into a hard armor. Care? Love? Attention? He had not known these things for a long time. But then he came to our ASIPA shelter in Romania. There, he was immediately operated on and freed from the painful band. Since then, Haiduc has begun a new chapter. A chapter where he feels his life is worth something for the first time. 🧡 Haiduc enjoys every little attention – perhaps the first real affection in his life. ________________________________________ 🐾 Who is Haiduc? Haiduc is a Herdenschutzhund mix, about 60 cm tall, neutered – a calm, contented male who takes time to understand new things. His mission? To watch over. Protect. Be loyal. For him, we are looking for a home with plenty of space and an escape-proof garden – a place where he can feel safe and live his role. ________________________________________ 💛 What he still needs to learn Haiduc has never known a warm home before. He still has much to learn: • Housebreaking • Leash training • Everyday rules of family life But he learns willingly – at his own pace. All he needs is people who show him that trust pays off. Haiduc will be placed after a pre-check, with a contract and payment of a deposit fee of €450.00. He is fully vaccinated and chipped and has an EU health certificate. If you would like to give him a home, we look forward to your message. More animals and information about us can be found at: www.tiernothilfe-ev.de Förderverein Tiernothilfe Siebenbürgen e V

About Haiduc der Große

What life with Haiduc der Große looks like

Haiduc der Große is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Förderverein Tiernothilfe Siebenbürgen e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Haiduc der Große, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Haiduc der Große?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Förderverein Tiernothilfe Siebenbürgen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Haiduc der Große on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Haiduc der Große if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Förderverein Tiernothilfe Siebenbürgen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Haiduc der Große already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Haiduc der Große isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Förderverein Tiernothilfe Siebenbürgen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Haiduc der Große and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
