Hajtek

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Hajtek is a small dog, approximately 2021 years old. He is small (about 6 kg), has longer, soft hair and is definitely one of those dogs that can easily be imagined snuggled up to a person on a couch. He has been at the shelter since the end of August 2026. Hajtek is a calm and gentle dog, but he needs some time to trust a new person. He is not the type of dog that will immediately throw himself into someone's arms - that's why patience and calmness are the key to winning his heart. It's best to get to know Hajtek slowly, without pressure and without excessive effusiveness. When he gets space, time and a sense of security, he has a chance to create a really beautiful bond with a person. He is a dog with whom the relationship is built step by step, but thanks to this, each subsequent sign of trust is even more enjoyable. Hajtek gets along well with other dogs, and he doesn't react to cats, so they don't make much of an impression on him. We are looking for a calm, patient person for him who will not rush anything and allow Hajtuś to get used to his new life at his own pace. He is small, calm, a little shy, but definitely worth getting to know.

PL·Show original

Hajtek to niewielki psiak, uwodzony ok. 2021.

About Hajtek

What life with Hajtek looks like

Hajtek is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hajtek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hajtek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hajtek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hajtek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hajtek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hajtek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hajtek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
