Hanoi dina

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Following an operation by the Seprona, several dogs have been seized. They were living in an enclosure without proper care or veterinary attention. A woman was collecting dogs with good intentions, but she lacked both the resources and the knowledge necessary to provide adequate animal care. Among them are Mekkong, Hanoi, and Saigon: Hanoi is a very young dog who lived in an enclosure alongside other dogs, without the necessary care or veterinary attention. All he’s experienced has made him an insecure dog around unfamiliar people, yet behind that distrust lies a highly curious dog eager to move forward. He already accepts treats from your hand, approaches you on his own initiative, and if he knows you, he’ll allow himself to be handled—though this isn’t something he fully enjoys yet. He’s also started going for walks. It’s still a new experience for him, and sometimes he feels overwhelmed, but his curiosity helps him keep going. Moreover, there’s one thing that gives him great reassurance: staying close to Saigon, who’s a bit further along in the process and serves as his support and reference point. The bond between Hanoi and Saigon is truly special. When Hanoi feels insecure, he seeks out Saigon—and finds in him the confidence he needs to face new situations. With time and the right training, Hanoi will gradually gain more independence; however, right now, having the company of another well-balanced dog is hugely beneficial for him. Hanoi needs a calm family with plenty of time, patience, and—preferably—some experience working with insecure dogs or a willingness to learn how to accompany him through this journey. If you’d like to meet him, please get in touch with us. Positive leishmaniasis test result; treatment has been initiated. He’s already neutered. 4-Idexx tests (for ehrlichia, filaria, anaplasma, and borrelia) are negative. Show more of his story Show less

Test 4 Idexx (ehrlichia, filaria, anaplasma y borrelia) negativo. About Hanoi dina

What life with Hanoi dina looks like

Hanoi dina is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at ALBA Protectora Madrid in Madrid.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hanoi dina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hanoi dina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ALBA Protectora Madrid handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hanoi dina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hanoi dina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ALBA Protectora Madrid will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hanoi dina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hanoi dina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ALBA Protectora Madrid early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hanoi dina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
