Adoption Requirements | Adoption Process | Request this Animal Now! Adoption Requirements | Adoption Process | Request this Dog Now! Harley has had to leave his home through no fault of his own and is now urgently looking for people who can provide him with the stability he longs for so deeply. The soon-to-be three-year-old male dog stands approximately 69 cm tall at the shoulder and weighs around 30 kg, making him an impressive companion. With his glossy black-and-tan coat, distinctive markings above his eyes, and attentive gaze, Harley visually bears a striking resemblance to a Beauceron. Beaucerons are known as intelligent, eager-to-learn, and hardworking dogs that thrive on both physical and mental stimulation. Harley already lives in Germany and has proven to be a friendly, open-minded, and people-oriented companion here. Unfortunately, he must leave his current home—not because of any behavioral issues, but due to changes in his family’s living situation. Now, he’s searching for people who can offer him the security and stability he truly deserves. Harley gets along well with children and is also compatible with other dogs. He loves shared activities, enjoys spending time outdoors, and looks forward to people who will warmly integrate him into their daily routines. Long walks, hikes, or canine sports bring him just as much joy as joint training sessions where he can put his clever mind to work. Harley is a young dog full of energy and zest for life. That’s why we’re looking for active people who enjoy giving him both physical and mental challenges while guiding him through life with love and consistency. If you have the time, patience, and desire for a loyal companion, you’ll find in Harley a wonderful friend for life. Harley is already house-trained, travels comfortably by car, and knows the most important basic commands. Thus, he already possesses many qualities necessary for a relaxed coexistence and is excited to continue learning together with his new family. Harley will move into his new home neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and equipped with his EU pet passport. After a positive preliminary check, he will be placed with a protection fee. Harley has already lost his home once before. Now he’s looking for people with whom he can finally feel truly at home—people who will give him the chance to become a permanent part of their family forever. Perhaps you’re exactly the person Harley has been waiting for all along. Thank you so much, Tina D.! You’ve not only given Harley his wonderful name but also his identity. As of July 24, 2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Harley

What life with Harley looks like

Harley is a extra-large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Harley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Harley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Harley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Harley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Harley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Harley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Harley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
