Harti convinces above all with one thing: his wonderfully friendly nature. 🥰 The handsome Bracken mix was born in November 2025, is about 50 cm tall and weighs approx. 15 kg. And Harti is one of the dogs with whom you can quickly notice: He just loves people. He is open, friendly and not shy at all. New people? He's happy to meet them! Other dogs? No problem! Harti also likes cats. 🐶🐱❤️ He is not a dog for which you have to be a dog trainer for half your life. On the contrary: Through his accessible and uncomplicated nature, we can also imagine Harti very well with dog beginners. Of course, he still has to learn a lot about life in a real home - after all, he's still young - but he brings a really good foundation with him. Harti is looking for people who want to discover the world with him, teach him the basics of being a dog and show him how nice it is to finally belong somewhere. A friendly young man who likes people, likes dogs, likes cats - Harti makes it really easy for you to fall in love with him. 💛 Do you want to love Harti and show him what it's like to have a home of his own? 🏡🐾 .fusion-body .fusion-button Interest in an adoption? About Harti

What life with Harti looks like

Harti is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Nordic Strays e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Harti, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Harti?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Nordic Strays e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Harti on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Harti if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Nordic Strays e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Harti already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Harti isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Nordic Strays e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Harti and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
