01-07-2026 Hazel is verhuisd naar de kennels. Hoewel het hartstikke goed ging met de middenvelders en soms met de caravan crew, was het een uitdaging hondjes uit de kennels langs haar te leiden, wanneer ze uit wandelen genomen werden. Met de dagelijkse wandelingen van Luna, die ook dagelijks op het middenveld gelaten wordt, omdat ze meer moet bewegen, werd besloten dat het tijd werd voor Hazel om een kenneltje op te zoeken. Ze heeft het prima naar haar zin in de kennel, krijgt voldoende aandacht wanneer er mensen binnenkomen en ‘hoeft niet zo erg meer van alles’. Ze wordt ook steeds rustiger. Ze is ontzettend gesteld op mensen… op alle mensen! Zij zou het natuurlijk nog beter doen in haar eigen thuis, met altijd persoonlijk aandacht. Hazel in het kort: – Aanhankelijk – Energiek – Mensgericht – Kan met andere honden – Blij met alle aandacht – Loopt makkelijk mee aan de lijn – Kan jaloers gedrag vertonen Het begin Hazel werd op een dag ‘ontdekt’ in de straten van Vasiliko. Zij werd door de zeer oude moeder van Elina in de tuin gehaald en verzorgd. Een heel lief en voorzichtig meisje was blij met de dagelijkse maaltijd en aandacht… maar de oude vrouw kon niet voor haar zorgen. Bovendien moest Hazel gesteriliseerd worden en dus werd ons om hulp gevraagd. Want Hazel moet daarna ook op een veilige plek bijkomen. Dus was het op 09-10-2025 zover; Hazel werd opgehaald en meegenomen naar de dierenarts. Zij is niet gechipt, ongeveer 2,5 jaar oud, weegt 18. 8 kilo en volkomen gezond. De mediterrane ziekten kwamen allemaal negatief terug en de bloedtest was super. Ze werd gesteriliseerd en samen met Aris (die die dag gecastreerd mocht worden) bij Annie in de corridor gezet om bij te komen. Ze was heel lief naar de vrijwilligers en zijn benieuwd hoe zij zich zal ontwikkelen op de safe haven. 25-03-2026 Hazel is nu al enige tijd op de FTS Safe Haven en heeft eigenlijk al een aantal kleine veranderingen doorgaan. Ze leeft op het middenterrein en is dol op mensen. Ze gaat ook super graag mee wandelen. En als Elina (die haar destijds bracht) er is, zorgt ze ervoor dat Hazel lekker aan de wandel gaat. Hazel kan erg heftig zijn in haar spel. Met Josh, die ook een vrolijke energieke jongeman is, gaat ze nog het best. Ze is fantastisch met mensen en zolang zij het centrum van de aandacht is, gaat het prima, maar ze kan jaloers zijn op de andere hondjes. Omdat ze dit gedrag niet alleen vertoont met aandacht, maar ook met voer, denken we dat het dan toch het best is haar als ‘hond alleen’ te plaatsen. 14-04-2026 Hazel is de winter niet helemaal goed doorgekomen. Ondanks haar vrolijke, onstuimige, energieke energie… is zij behoorlijk aangekomen. Haar wintervetjes zien wij er graag weer af! Wat haar zou kunnen helpen is consequente dagelijkse wandelingen, met haar forever human!!! Hazel woont tegenwoordig niet alleen op het middenveld, maar ook tussen de caravan crew. Ze lijkt wel wat rustiger te worden voor wat betreft aandacht vragen en jaloezie. Dat kan natuurlijk zijn, omdat zij het vertrouwen inmiddels heeft dat ze aan haar trekken komt, maar het kan ook dat zij zich langzaam aan het berusten is in haar lot. Dat zou niet al te best zijn! Hazel wordt nog altijd steevast uitgelaten wanneer Elina komt. Ze hebben een echte band samen! We zien dan ook hoe het voor haar zou kunnen zijn met haar eigen baasje of vrouwtje.
