HEINI

Male · Kitten · 3 months

Heini, a playful little kitten, is learning to enjoy playing with humans and being petted. He spends his days eating, sleeping, and playing with his siblings. Each of our youngest cats has its own unique character and is special in its own way. They are enchanting and can easily charm their caregivers. Watching them grow and develop is a joy, although they can also be quite mischievous. Our kittens and young cats are always rehomed in pairs or with a compatible existing cat for animal welfare reasons. We are happy to advise you on who would be a good match. All animals are vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed for a small fee and are adopted with a contract through the Osnabrück Cat Protection Association. We are very excited to hear from you! Until you meet your desired cat in person, you can observe Heini and his roommates online via the webcams in (Room B1). You can also find updates about many of our animals, including photos and videos, on Instagram, Facebook, or our YouTube channel Katzenschutzbund Osnabrück e.V. There is always something happening in our cat house!

DE·Show original

In unserem Mietzhaus ist nämlich immer was los!

About HEINI

What life with HEINI looks like

HEINI is a large puppy/kitten cat waiting at Katzenschutzbund in Brüggen-Bracht.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting HEINI, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about HEINI?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenschutzbund handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw HEINI on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt HEINI if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenschutzbund will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is HEINI already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if HEINI isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenschutzbund early rather than rehoming privately; they know HEINI and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
