Helia

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Helia is a beautiful female dog who has been a resident of the animal shelter in Kecskemét since July 20, 2026. She was found in Kecskemét, on the parking lot of a practitioner, where she wandered aimlessly and helplessly with Florinda, her daughter, and kind people called the Menhely to pick up the dogs. Of course, both dogs had no chip and an owner could not be found, maybe better so. We suspect they come from a nearby high-crime neighborhood. We keep a tight fist for Helia and Florinda that they will soon be discovered by their new families and the animal shelter will only be a short stopover in their lives. Helia and Florinda do not have to be mediated together. Helia is a sweet, nice and friendly dog, a bit shy at first, until she realizes that you mean well to her and nothing happens to her. She enjoys every kind of attention and attention, it seems she has a lot of catching up to do. She needs a lot of love and close contact with us humans, she also likes to get caresses. Helia wants to go on an adventure with her new people and explore the big, wide world out there, step by step. Walking on a leash is already quite good, it is still worthwhile, but practice makes the master, or rather the master. She still has to sit in the school bench and learn the dog ABC, but she is a smart four-legged one and will quickly understand what you want from her, because she wants to please her people and do everything right. Helia gets along well with her fellow dogs and is currently (August 6, 2026) integrated into a mixed pack. For our very dear Helia, we are looking for loving, patient and adventurous people who will let Helia arrive in peace, like to go on trips with their dog in nature, have a lot of love, care and security for Helia, dog-friendly exhaust Helia, offer her security, stability and protection and warmly welcome her in her family forever. Whoever gives this great dog his time and love will get a loyal companion for life. Who can Helia trust? Helia can travel from around the beginning/middle of September 2026 if she has found a home or a foster home.

About Helia

What life with Helia looks like

Helia is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Helia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Helia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Helia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Helia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Helia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Helia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Helia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
