Adopt Henio

Male · Senior · 15 years

Henio came to the animal shelter together with his loyal companion Maja. They lost their home because their caregiver was no longer able to take care of them. Now they are both waiting for a new chance and someone who will give them a peaceful, safe autumn of life. Henio, despite his age, is a very energetic and determined senior. He is a joyful, cheerful dog who loves contact with people. He gets along well with people, enjoys every moment of attention, petting, and simple presence. It is clear that human companionship is very important to him. Walks bring him real joy. Henio likes movement and activity, and additionally tries to keep his crate clean, so he enthusiastically goes out to take care of his needs. He is a smart, well-behaved dog who will easily find his place in a home environment. Henio is very close to Maja and they make an inseparable duo, so we are looking for a home for them together.

Ania 507577452

About Henio

What life with Henio looks like

Henio is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Senior dog requiring gentle care, bonded with another dog (Maja) and must be adopted together

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Henio, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Henio?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Henio on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Henio if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Henio already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Henio isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Henio and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
