Henna

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Henna (born 07/2026) is a sweet young female dog who brings life to the house with her playful, mischievous nature. She is still in her puppy stage and loves to discover everything, try things out, and play with her little companion Dori. Since October 24th, Henna has been living in a foster home in Porta Westfalica. There, she is starting her adventure as a house dog and there is still a lot to learn. Together with Dori, they play, romp, and gradually get to know everyday life. Henna shows herself to be a bit bolder and more dominant than her companion, but of course she is still a puppy who needs guidance and loving direction. With her small stature, Henna surprised her foster family when she arrived: the harnesses and leashes they had already bought were simply too big! Walking on a harness and leash is therefore completely new for her. She also has to learn the rest of the dog ABC. She is already well on her way with house training. If something goes wrong, she reliably does her business on the prepared pee pads. Currently, Henna measures about 30 cm. She will probably grow a bit more and could reach a shoulder height of about 40 to 45 cm. However, this is an estimate, as her final size cannot be predicted with certainty. We wish Henna a loving home where she can grow up in peace and discover the world. Her future owners should be happy to patiently educate a young dog, give her security, and promote her physically and mentally in a way that is appropriate for her age. Henna is vaccinated, chipped, and will be placed with a contract after a positive preliminary inspection. Due to her age, she is not yet spayed. When picking up the dog, it is necessary to wear a safety harness. Such a harness (3-strap safety harness) can be purchased for only 25 €.

DE·Show original

Henna (geb.

About Henna

What life with Henna looks like

Henna is a puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Henna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Henna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Henna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Henna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Henna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Henna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Henna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
