adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Henna has found her forever home! Her story: Fantanele, Romania. The little enchanting Henna is on the lookout for a family. With her fluffy white fur, she reminds one of a snowball or a little polar bear cub. Her beautiful eyes have already captivated her local helpers. Will they enchant you too? Henna was found with her siblings Wally, Flocke, and Raffaelo, as well as their mother Floriana, in the mountains near a restaurant. There, the mother was fed by an old lady. Then, in the winter, her puppies were born. Henna is typically playful and loves to be cuddled, gets along well with people and dogs. Cats have not been tested yet. She currently weighs 7 kg. She is expected to grow to be medium to large-sized. Henna is looking for people who won't have too many expectations of her and will show her how a normal dog life works. She is still a baby and has a lot to learn. One or another mishap shouldn't be held against her, and Henna should always be guided with a positive and reinforcing training style. She is looking forward to her new life with beautiful nature walks, many cuddle hours, and also a visit to puppy school. Puppies should not be left alone as much as possible in their first year of life. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos will turn the little rascals' lives upside down. They "forget" often everything they have learned so far, and their ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important in this phase to train consistently but lovingly. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Judging by the appearance of the mother, it cannot be ruled out that Henna also has herding dog genes. Therefore, one should also be prepared to deal with her characteristics and provide her with the appropriate environment. Once Henna is old enough and all vaccinations are in place, she can embark on her great journey to happiness. Of course, she will then also be dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. And the EU pet passport will also be in her luggage. Even though she would love to move directly into her forever home, she would also be happy with a foster home. Many thanks, Laura L.! You gave the sweet Henna her name and thus her identity.

About Henna

What life with Henna looks like

Henna is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Henna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Henna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Henna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Henna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Henna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Henna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Henna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
