Hennen und Hähne

Mixed Breed · Male · 2 years

13 hens and 2 roosters seek a home Our hens are vaccinated and have been vet-checked. They need a new home with a coop and run so they can move freely and enjoy nature. It is important to us that they are not slaughtered and are allowed to lead an animal-appropriate life. An ideal group would be 6 to 10 birds (one rooster, several hens) in which they can feel comfortable and fulfill their social needs. We wish our roosters a loving home where they can continue to live happily and healthily. If you are interested in giving these wonderful birds a new home, we look forward to your contact! animal welfare association Augsburg and surroundings e. V. Tel.

About Hennen und Hähne

What life with Hennen und Hähne looks like

Hennen und Hähne is a medium-sized adult mixed breed animal waiting at Tierheim Augsburg in Augsburg.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Hennen und Hähne far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

Note from the shelter: Requires coop with free-range access, must not be slaughtered, needs social group of 6-10 birds

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hennen und Hähne, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hennen und Hähne?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Augsburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hennen und Hähne on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hennen und Hähne if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Augsburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hennen und Hähne already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hennen und Hähne isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Augsburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hennen und Hähne and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
