adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Henny has found her home! Her story: Henny is a beautiful, active female dog with a gentle nature and a strong human connection. She loves being stroked and constantly seeks the company of her humans. On the leash, she walks well, although new situations can sometimes make her unsure, but she trusts her primary caregiver. Long periods in the kennel are not her thing; she wants to explore the outside world and enjoy the closeness of humans. Henny has a dynamic past: Likely she lived as a stray or was abandoned and sought protection in a garden. There, she became pregnant and gave birth to seven puppies. The original owners either wanted to give the puppies away or bring them to the public animal shelter. Thanks to our support, they could stay with her for a while, but soon we also need to find a new home for the little ones. Henny is intelligent and eager to learn, will quickly adapt to a new home, and wants to please. In her new home, she should receive enough exercise and attention. Henny is compatible with other dogs; whether she gets along with cats has not yet been tested. We are looking for loving and active people who will give Henny time to settle in and enjoy working with her and helping her. Regular walks, playful mental stimulation, and gentle training will make Henny happy and strengthen the bond with her new humans. Henny travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport to her new home and will be placed after a positive assessment. Do you want to be the person who shows Henny what a home with love, security, and freedom can be like? A special thank you goes to the namesake Gert S., who gave Henny her name and thus her own identity. As of: 21.09.

Stand: 21.09.2025

About Henny

What life with Henny looks like

Henny is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Henny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Henny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Henny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Henny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Henny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Henny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Henny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
