Adopt Henry

Pointer · Male · Young · 3 years

Meet Henry, our handsome 3-year-old German Wirehaired Pointer. Henry is an energetic, clever boy with a serious love of fetch! He’s absolutely ball obsessed, so his new family will need to help him manage his excitement around them with patience and consistency. Henry absolutely loves cuddling up on the sofa and having a cuddle as well as being out and about exploring new places. Henry is a lovely house guest who is fully house trained and very respectful to everyone in the home. Henry came to us from another rescue, so we don’t know a lot about his past, but he’s shown himself to be an affectionate, playful dog who thrives on activity and attention. Henry will need a home without cats or small animals, though he may be able to live with another dog following successful introductions at the centre. He’s looking for an active, understanding owner who can give him the time, training, and stimulation he needs — and maybe the occasional game of fetch to keep him happy. Home requirements: Henry would be best suited to a home with secondary school aged children or older, where interactions can be calm and respectful. He thrives on companionship and would benefit from a household where someone is around for much of the day, as he’s not used to being left alone for long periods. In his foster home, he has been sleeping in the bedroom and takes comfort from having his people nearby, often seeking reassurance and closeness. Patient owners who can offer him consistency, affection, and a reassuring presence will help him feel secure and settled. Available at Newbury (Berkshire), Newbury
