Herda

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this cat! The beautiful cat with the green eyes was found alone in a village. Exposed to hunger, cold, and dangers, the sweet mouse was not safe there and came into our foster home. We cannot say what her previous life was like. But Herda is ready to look forward and begin a new life. If Herda loves anything, it's getting attention from her people. The gentle house tiger enjoys every cuddle and every scratch and petting. Herda is a loving, loyal soul who brings much coziness and peace to any home with her calm demeanor. For the social cat, we are looking for a home where at least one other cat is already waiting for her or where she can move in together. We also wish for her a home that is suitable for apartment living, so she can forget her old, not so wonderful life. Herda gets along not only well with people and other cats, but dogs are no problem either. For an adoption fee, Herda can start her journey into a new life. She is equipped with her EU pet passport and is tested negative for FiV and FelV. She is also microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. If you want to give the pretty Herda a place in your heart, we look forward to your message. Many thanks to Ker Wa for her name, identity, and chance at a new life! Effective as of: 13.06.

About Herda

What life with Herda looks like

Herda is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Herda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Herda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Herda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Herda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Herda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Herda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Herda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
