Hermés

Mixed Breed · Male

Hermés ID No.: 1042417 Breed: Mastin-mixed breed Age: approx. 08/2021 Gender: male Shoulder height: approx. 73 cm Neutered: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry form Hermés – gentle Mastín mix seeks home with space Hermés (*approx. 08/2021, approx. 73 cm shoulder height) is one of the first dogs rescued from a Perrera in inland Spain, where around 80 dogs lived under very poor conditions. Once known only as "No. 36," he is now part of the Triple-A-Marbella family and is gradually leaving his past behind. Despite everything, this large, brindle Mastín mix proves to be calm, friendly, and highly sociable. At the animal shelter, he lives together with two older Mastín female dogs and treats them with remarkable respect. On-leash, Hermés walks calmly and pleasantly; shared walks are quiet and harmonious. In the dog park, Hermés tends to be independent, enjoys sniffing around, and doesn’t constantly seek human attention. He forms bonds but is neither clingy nor demanding—ideal for people who can give their dog space and peace. Hermés can live as a single dog but would also do well in a home with other confident dogs, preferably female dogs. We hope to find him a home with outdoor space. Due to his size, there should be no small children in the household. A small lump near his eye will be removed soon in a simple procedure. Hermés is a gentle giant who now finally deserves to settle in and find a loving home. Hermés is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has an EU pet passport. For travel arrangements, he has been tested for Mediterranean diseases and has been dewormed and treated for fleas. Impfungen Ja Mittelmeercheck Ja Microchip Nein Schutzgebühr 500 € inkl. About Hermés

What life with Hermés looks like

Hermés is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hermés, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hermés?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hermés on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hermés if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hermés already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hermés isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hermés and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
