HERR WAGNER

British Shorthair · Male · Adult · 8 years

Our HERR WAGNER came to us as a found animal. Due to kidney insufficiency diagnosed in him, he is now permanently dependent on special food and medication (Ipakitine). He has been with us for some time now and unfortunately still does not want any contact with people. Neither can-openers nor snuggle services have been able to convince him to come closer, as he always flees and hides in one of his caves if someone gets too close. With fellow animals, he seems to get along, but he has not formed any special friendships with his current roommates either. His favorite place is on the heating vent or on a sun-warmed cushion, and he would like regular meals and his peace and quiet. It would be wonderful if we could find a quiet home for this nice and reserved gentleman with a sunny spot, for example, on a cat-safe balcony. With a lot of patience and low expectations, you might be able to earn his trust – and that would be a great gift! ❤️ However, we can never know how much time HERR WAGNER has left due to his health condition. His kidney values are unfortunately not good at all... Our cats are generally rehomed in pairs or with an existing and suitable cat. All are vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed against adoption fee. We are looking forward to your contact! Before you meet your preferred candidate in person, you can observe HERR WAGNER online via the webcams in room A2 and enclosure. For news about many of our shelter animals, including photos and videos, check out our Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or our YouTube channel Katzenschutzbund Osnabrück e.V. There is always something going on in our Miezhaus!. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

DE·Show original

In unserem Miezhaus ist nämlich immer was los!

About HERR WAGNER

What life with HERR WAGNER looks like

HERR WAGNER is a large adult british shorthair cat waiting at Katzenschutzbund in Brüggen-Bracht.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting HERR WAGNER, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about HERR WAGNER?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenschutzbund handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw HERR WAGNER on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt HERR WAGNER if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenschutzbund will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is HERR WAGNER already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if HERR WAGNER isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenschutzbund early rather than rehoming privately; they know HERR WAGNER and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
