Hershey en Haribo

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 4 months

Hershey and Haribo were about 9 weeks old when they came to their foster family, they were not used to people yet. Both were scared and barked at them. In a week's time, they have made huge strides. Every day, they thaw out a little further. Touching is still very exciting, but with patience, they will one day discover that it's actually fun. They are very careful and dare to rest for a few minutes on the couch where the person is sitting. Eventually, they will surely discover how cozy that is. They are very curious. They regularly stand in front of the window to see what's happening outside and they come to see what the person is doing again and again. They play rough. They fight like crazy with the craziest jumps in between. The cats in the foster family find them very interesting. But they also respect it when the other cats don't want them too close. Because they still have to overcome some fears, a family with very young children is less suitable. Children who are a bit older and understand that they need some time can do it. Interaction with dogs is unknown. Given their curious nature, it is nice if they are given the chance to explore outside in a safe environment.

NL·Show original

About Hershey en Haribo

What life with Hershey en Haribo looks like

Hershey en Haribo is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Kat in Nood in Netherlands.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hershey en Haribo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hershey en Haribo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kat in Nood handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hershey en Haribo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hershey en Haribo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kat in Nood will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hershey en Haribo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hershey en Haribo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kat in Nood early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hershey en Haribo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
