Hetty

Mixed Breed Β· Female

Happy Hetty is a super little Bulldog who has settled nicely into a foster home provided by Dogs Trust Merseyside in LIverpool. Sadly, she has been passed around a few homes in recent years so is looking for some stability from a forever family now. Hetty is medium size and is a loving girl who can be very playful when the mood strikes. She enjoys tugging games and is a big fan of puddles and open water! Hetty has been great in her foster home, settling into a routine quite quickly. Hetty loves her walks and happily says hello to everyone, including other dogs which she enjoys walking with. She has been jealous of other dogs receiving attention in a previous home and seems to be happier when all the attention is on her, so she would prefer to be the only pet in the home. Hetty previously lived with an energetic young child and there was an incident when the child and Hetty were alone, the details of which are unknown. So to avoid any similar incidents, she will only be rehomed where any children are older teens. Sometimes Hetty can be a bit OTT herself and often greets strangers to the home with an enthusiastic hump. She does settle quickly but she can be very strong, so this is something potential adopters will need to consider. Hetty is house-trained and good when left by herself. She has recently had surgery to improve her breathing and has recovered well without any need for further treatment. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ If you would like to give sociable Hetty her loving, forever home, please contact Dogs Trust Merseyside as follows: Apply: via their website – click here or Ext.1068 (Reception) – Monday-Friday Please mention you saw Hetty on the Oldies Club website.

About Hetty

What life with Hetty looks like

Hetty is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible β€” a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hetty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hetty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hetty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hetty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Hetty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hetty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hetty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
