Bruno

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 6 years

Hi, I’m Bruno—a very handsome Dachshund, if I do say so myself—on the lookout for a new home. Here are some things you need to know about me: I can be a little worried when meeting new people, but with a bit of time and patience, I soon build a strong bond and show my true, affectionate self. I like to take things at my own pace, so I might need a couple of visits to feel comfortable—but once I’ve decided you’re one of my people, get ready for plenty of love. When I feel safe and settled, I really enjoy curling up on the sofa beside you for some cosy downtime. Making new friends takes me a little time, but there’s one very quick way to my heart… food! I absolutely love treats, especially hotdogs and sausages—I’d do just about anything for a tasty bit of sausage. I’m a proper Dachshund at heart — big personality, lots of charm, and yes… I do like the sound of my own voice now and then! What can I say? I’ve got opinions, and I’m not afraid to share them. I love getting out and about on my walks, having a good sniff of everything (and I mean everything). Once I trust you, I’m a fun and loving companion who’s just as happy heading out on little adventures as I am relaxing by your side. Here are some things you need to know about me: I’m looking for a calm, patient adult-only home where I can settle in at my own pace. I might be open to sharing my home with another dog—pending a successful meet, of course. I’d prefer not to be left for too long, but with a bit of patience, that can be built up as I grow in confidence. I might play it cool at first, but give me time and I’ll show you just how loyal, cuddly, and quietly cheeky I can be. If you think we could be a good match, I’d love to meet you.

About Bruno

What life with Bruno looks like

Bruno is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Jerry Green Dog Rescue in Lincoln.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bruno, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bruno?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jerry Green Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bruno on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bruno if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jerry Green Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bruno already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bruno isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jerry Green Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bruno and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
