Odie

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 12 years

Don’t let my age fool you, I believe you are as young as you feel and I’ve still got plenty of bounce in my paws and a real zest for life! I love my walks, enjoy being out and about, and I’m a happy, friendly soul who gets very excited about the world (I do like to tell everyone about it with my voice too!). Treats are one of my great joys — especially a whole raw carrot, which I proudly crunch through — and I still enjoy a good play. Tuggy games with my special towel are a particular favourite. When I’m not playing, you’ll often find me pottering in the garden or snoozing in a sunny spot. I’m looking for a calm, loving home where I can be the only pet, enjoy regular daily walks, and have access to a secure private garden. I can live with children aged 11+ and, once settled, I’m happy to relax at home for up to four hours on my own. I do have a few medical bits to manage, but the lovely JG team will happily talk you through everything. I’d love a home where I can continue doing what I do best — walking, playing, and soaking up the sunshine… could that be with you? 🌞💛 Please apply now to adopt me, or if you would like to know a little more about me first, please contact the East Yorkshire Community Support Team on or . Love, Odie 🐶💛

About Odie

What life with Odie looks like

Odie is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Jerry Green Dog Rescue in Lincoln.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Odie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Odie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jerry Green Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Odie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Odie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jerry Green Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Odie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Odie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jerry Green Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Odie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
