Hiccup

Male · Senior · 13 years

Meet Hiccup! This handsome ginger boy is looking for his forever home! Around his favourite person he's the soppiest boy and just wants to spend time on their lap snoozing away! Hiccup also enjoys soaking up the sunshine in the garden, and is partial to a bit of playtime too. As Hiccup is an outside toileter, he will need access to a garden via a cat flap at all hours of the day. He doesn't get on with other cats, so this garden will need to be private. He is a sweet boy but can swipe and nip, so would be best suited to a home with teenagers and above. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Hiccup, you can e-mail our rehoming team on () to register your interest. r the cat you have contacted us about.

About Hiccup

What life with Hiccup looks like

Hiccup is a senior cat waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hiccup, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hiccup?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hiccup on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hiccup if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hiccup already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hiccup isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hiccup and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
