Stella

Cane Corso · Female · Young · 1 year

Meet Stella, our sweet and affectionate Cane Corso girl! Stella arrived at Battersea as a gift and has a lovely history from her previous home. She is a sensitive soul who can be worried by new people and the wider world, so she is looking for owners who can help build her confidence and give her the time she needs to settle into her new home. Stella can be worried by other dogs, although she is able to greet them nicely. For now, she would prefer to be the only dog in the home. She has previously shared her space with a cat, so could potentially live with a dog-savvy cat following the right introductions. Stella would suit less experienced owners who are willing to learn about her needs and continue her confidence building and training. She is looking for a home away from the inner city and will need her own private garden. She can live with teenagers aged 13+ who can be involved in her daily training and understand when she needs some space. This lovely girl really does have a heart of gold and plenty of love to give. With the right support and patience, Stella will make a wonderful companion. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Stella, you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest.

About Stella

What life with Stella looks like

Stella is a medium-sized young adult cane corso dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Stella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Stella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Stella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Stella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Stella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Stella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Stella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
