Adopt Hógolyó

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 9 months

Information about Hógolyó: Breed: mixed breed Gender: male Born: 2023 (estimated) Color: light beige Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Microchipped: yes Kennel dog: no shoulder height: ca. 55 cm Location: Hárkany, Hungary Information about the dog's stay Update May 2026: Unfortunately, Hógolyó is once again on the lookout for a home. For a while, he found a home in his foster home, but unfortunately, there are still issues with the neighbors. Hógolyó likes to eat the neighbors' poultry. Hógolyó is now allowed to participate in his first city walk in Pecs, and he handled it well, even though it was his first experience in a big city. The noises and people didn't bother him, but he was afraid of other dogs and wouldn't let everyone approach him. He, however, is extremely friendly towards people and loves to give kisses. Background: Hógolyó (Snowball) is a 9-month-old male dog currently with Dorisz! He gets along with other dogs and his own kitten but will catch other pets. Additionally, he is child-friendly and guards his garden! He is not hyperactive but needs to learn everything. Hógolyó, which means Snowball, was simply dropped off at the foster home by our Hungarian colleagues. His original owner no longer had the time or desire to take care of the handsome male dog. In the foster home, he now lives problem-free with another dog, and he also gets along with his own cats. Other pets like poultry and small animals would like to catch him. Hógolyó is child-friendly but also guards his garden. We are looking for a family or people, preferably with children, who are willing to learn with him and perhaps attend dog training classes. If you are that person, please contact us. Hógolyó could soon be microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, and ready to travel with a blue EU passport. Sabine Rosentreter-Koch Name and thanks for sponsors. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

About Hógolyó

What life with Hógolyó looks like

Hógolyó is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein TS Nie mehr allein e.V. in Mildstedt.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hógolyó, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hógolyó?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein TS Nie mehr allein e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hógolyó on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hógolyó if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein TS Nie mehr allein e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hógolyó already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hógolyó isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein TS Nie mehr allein e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hógolyó and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
