Hokapoka – darf bei ihrer Pflegefamilie bleiben

Mixed Breed · Male

How does this impressive female dog get her unusual name? "Hokapoka" was already reported to us a year ago: poor care, she often escaped, the neighbors became active, but... getting her away from there did not work. It seemed hopeless until we suddenly received a call that she had been taken to the animal shelter. We were happily surprised, which almost bordered on magic - but since "Hokuspokus" is a male name, we simply made a female version of it: HOKAPOKA. Hokapoka is less open towards men than towards women; she shows clear uncertainty with corresponding uncertain blocking. As she is not really the biggest hero, she disguises this in wild jumping around, but also in a strong watchfulness at the fence. No one comes into the garden anymore without an escort - Hokapoka then appears very imposing. With her familiar people, Hokapoka is very cuddly, very people-oriented, and shows what a sensitive person she actually is. Physically, Hokapoka is no delicate creature and therefore needs playmates who can match her physically and are also confident. She is a silly head, very curious, and genuinely eager to learn. She walks well on a leash! For Hokapoka, we are looking for her people who can give her security and guide her understandingly so that Hokapoka does not make decisions that no one wants to see later. If there are children in the household, they should be teenagers, younger children would be literally blown away by Hokapoka. Hokapoka is now an old lady and years of searching have not found the right place for her. Now, Frau Cordt has decided that she may move into her pack in the house and will be socialized there. Help for Herd Protection Dogs e.V. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
