Holly has been waiting for an adoption for 10 years, and now she's 13… carried like a queen, of course! She needs outdoor space and a warm doghouse. She suffers from the cold and loves the sun. Not suited to an urban setting, she doesn't welcome strangers who insist on touching her at all costs, nor cats, rabbits, or puppies. Yes to calm adult dogs (especially proud males), while she does not tolerate overly dominant females. It is important to know that she is not willing to share food and toys with other dogs. Ideally an only dog. She adores squeaky plush toys! Holly is a medium-small Italian Greyhound (Segugio Italiano) who suffered abuse at the hands of a hunter: he kept her confined to produce litters and beat her. As a result, she learned to escape, dig, and make holes in the fencing, and she developed mistrust of strangers, who in her eyes are all potential hunters. She is not aggressive: she reacts by moving away from the potential danger. After three or four meetings, however, she trusts and is very sweet. If you live outside an urban area, have a large, well-fenced piece of land that is hound-proof, and want to adopt an elderly but still healthy and lively little female (try throwing a ball and you'll see her in action!), here is Holly!

Non adatta a un contesto urbano, non gradisce estranei che vogliano toccarla a tutti i costi, né gatti, coniglietti o cani cuccioli. Sì a cani adulti tranquilli (soprattutto maschi fieri), mentre non tollera femmine troppo dominanti. È importante sapere che non è disposta a condividere cibo e giochi con altri cani. Ideale figlia unica. Adora i pupazzini che suonano! Holly è un segugio italiano di taglia media contenuta che ha subito maltrattamenti da un cacciatore: la teneva segregata a fare cucciolate e la picchiava. Così ha imparato a scappare, scavare, fare buchi nella rete e ha sviluppato diffidenza verso gli estranei, che ai suoi occhi sono tutti potenziali cacciatori. Non è aggressiva: reagisce allontanandosi dal potenziale pericolo.Dopo tre-quattro incontri, invece, si fida ed è molto dolce. Se vivete fuori da una zona urbana, avete attorno a casa un bel terreno ben recintato a prova di segugio e volete adottare una cagnolina anziana ma ancora sana e scattante (provate a tirarle una pallina e la vedrete all’opera!), ecco a voi Holly!
