Honey

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

Honey comes from an animal hoarding case and has spent much of her life in conditions that were far from a normal life as a family dog. Fortunately, she was rescued from this situation. Today, she lives with our animal welfare worker Diana in Bistrița on a field and is safe there for now. However, a field is not the final destination for Honey. At nearly six years old, it's high time she gets to know what a real home feels like. Honey is friendly and open to people. She also gets along well with other dogs and lives with Diana without problems. Whether she gets along with cats has not been tested yet. Due to her past and her current accommodation on the field, Honey probably knows little about the everyday life that awaits her in a home of her own. Living in a house, different floor coverings, doors, stairs, household noises, traffic, dishes and leashes can be just as new to her as house training, driving a car or being left alone. Her future owners should therefore not expect Honey to master all these things automatically. With patience and a positive approach, she can learn step by step how life as a family dog works. Some things may work out quickly, while others may take some more time. A positively working dog school can wonderfully support Honey and her people on this path. The move from Romania to a home of her own will also be a huge change for Honey. New people, rooms, sounds, smells and routines can be overwhelming at first, even if she generally shows herself friendly and open. She should therefore be given enough time to get to know her new surroundings at her own pace and to develop trust in her new daily routine. We wish Honey people who do not mind what she cannot know yet due to her past. People who are happy to show her the world and work through the seemingly self-evident things with her. After all these years, Honey finally wants to experience that a home can be a safe place where you don't just live, but really belong. Honey travels spayed, chipped, vaccinated, dewormed and dewormed with her EU pet passport to her new home. After a positive pre-control, she can be placed for a deposit. Almost six years of life are already behind Honey. For the most beautiful years, she is now looking for the right people. Many thanks to godmother Carolin, who gave Honey her name. Status: 14.09.2026 Further information on the pre-control and deposit.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Honey

What life with Honey looks like

Honey is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Honey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Honey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Honey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Honey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Honey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Honey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Honey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
