Hoop

Female · Puppy · 2 months

Meet gorgeous Hoop, one of our adorable Crisp Pups! Hoop is one of an accidental litter and arrived on site with her brothers and sisters. We believe Hoop is a Lurcher cross Malinois, so her new owners will need experience with these breeds or have thoroughly researched their needs and be prepared for her to grow into a large, intelligent working-type dog who will need plenty of training, exercise and mental stimulation. She is a playful, excitable little puppy who is always ready to get involved and explore what’s going on around her. She has plenty of bouncy puppy energy but, once she’s ready for a rest, she is very happy to settle down for some fuss and a snooze. We expect her to grow into a very athletic and intelligent dog. As she is so young and lacking all her vaccines, she has not been able to go outside or socialise with many dogs. As such, we're not sure how she would cope with things like traffic or large populations of dogs. Despite this, Hoop has been confident with general handling and meeting new people. She is looking for a new home whose owners will be confident in exposing her to the world as she grows and matures. Hoop could potentially live with a role model dog who can teach her the ropes as she settles into her new home. She could also live with cats or other pets, with any introductions starting from scratch and managed carefully. Hoop could live with children who understand how to interact appropriately with young dogs and are prepared for the puppy mouthing that can be expected at this age. As she is so young, she will require a private garden where she can gradually experience the outside world once she is fully vaccinated. She could live in a range of locations, provided her owners have access to this space and can gradually introduce her to things like traffic and public transport. With time, patience and plenty of affection, Hoop has all the potential to grow into a fun-loving, affectionate companion. About Hoop

What life with Hoop looks like

Hoop is a medium-sized puppy dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hoop, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hoop?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hoop on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hoop if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Hoop already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hoop isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hoop and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
