Hope

Unknown

Hope from Kamionek arrived at our shelter in a dire condition. The kitten had disappeared for several days from her feeding spot and returned terribly emaciated and thin, with a dirty muzzle and dirty paws—she had feline calicivirus and a massive ulcer on her tongue. The cat also had a fractured pelvis. After surgery, she visibly began to recover. The next stage of her treatment involved the extraction of all her teeth; she had severe inflammation in her mouth. Hope is now ready for adoption. The cat has undergone a long course of treatment. Unfortunately, not everything could be brought under perfect control, as Hope has a chronic problem with gingivitis. Currently, she’s on low-dose, inexpensive steroid medication. This treatment can easily be continued at home. Hope is a bit shy, but if we encourage her properly, she’ll come over for petting. And once she does approach us, she’ll purr contentedly and offer us either side of her body for cuddling. She loves to play, and we haven’t noticed any negative interactions with other cats. We’re looking for a calm and patient guardian for her. The cat was likely born in 2023 or 2024. She’s an adult but still very young, spayed, and FIV/FeLV negative. She’s looking for a new home anywhere in Poland; right now, she’s based in Toruń. Hope from Kamionek is virtually supported by: NO VIRTUAL GUARDIAN

PL·Show original

Hope Kotka z Kamionek trafiła do nas w dramatycznej kondycji. Szukamy jej spokojnego i cierpliwego opiekuna. Kotka urodziła się najprawdopodobniej w 2023 lub 2024 roku. Jest dorosła ale młodziutka, wykastrowana, FIV/FeLV ujemna. Nowego domu szuka w całej Polsce, aktualnie jest w Toruniu. Hope z Kamionek wirtualnie wspiera: BRAK WIRTUALNEGO OPIEKUNA

About Hope

What life with Hope looks like

Hope is a adult cat waiting at Fundacja Kot Toruń in Poland.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hope, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hope?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Kot Toruń handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hope on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hope if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Kot Toruń will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hope already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hope isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Kot Toruń early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hope and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
