Hope

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Young · 1 year

Hi there, my name is Hope and I am approximately 1 year old. I was found on a farm along with my beautiful kittens but they are getting bigger now and they won't need me for much longer. I am a very sweet and friendly girl who enjoys company and fuss. I am a little timid of fast movement or being picked up but I think when I get used to being in a home, this will change. As you can see from my picture, I do have a head tilt, it just makes me look curious all the time! I could potentially live with other cats, dogs and children with slow introductions in the home. If you would like to know a little more about me then please get in touch, my friends would be happy to help. I won't be able to go home just yet as I am still with my kittens and I will need to be spayed, but we can start getting used to each other :) NAWT Cornwall Wheal Alfred Kennels Wheal Alfred Road Hayle Cornwall TR27 5JT Choose an item from our Amazon wish-list and it will come straight to us! Sponsor me and my friends to ensure I am safe and warm until I find a family to call my own.

About Hope

What life with Hope looks like

Hope is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hope, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hope?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hope on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hope if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hope already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hope isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hope and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
