Hoppsi & Erwin

Male · Young · 3 years

Hello, we are Hoppsi & Erwin. Because we could no longer be taken care of, we were given to the animal shelter. We are two curious contemporaries and we are always delighted when someone surprises us with yummy green fodder and other treats. Sometimes we are already very friendly and even take treats out of your hand. Health-wise, we are unobtrusive. We are looking for a shared home with plenty of space for hopping, digging, and playing. We can also be integrated into an existing group. A proper green fodder buffet would round out our perfect home. Can you imagine giving us a second chance? Then please get in touch! Your Hoppsi & Erwin If you are interested in our little creatures, we cordially invite you to visit us at our adoption times at the animal shelter. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

About Hoppsi & Erwin

What life with Hoppsi & Erwin looks like

Hoppsi & Erwin is a young adult rabbit waiting at Tierschutzverein St. Pölten in St. Pölten.

Rabbits are social animals — most shelters recommend adopting them in bonded pairs rather than alone. They need fresh hay daily, several hours of out-of-cage time, and rabbit-safe spaces to explore. They live eight to twelve years, longer than many people expect.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hoppsi & Erwin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hoppsi & Erwin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein St. Pölten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hoppsi & Erwin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hoppsi & Erwin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein St. Pölten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hoppsi & Erwin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most rabbits on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hoppsi & Erwin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein St. Pölten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hoppsi & Erwin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
